Why Use a Calibration Cube? A Quick Way to Check Print Accuracy
A simple 20×20×20mm cube that reveals whether your printer is hitting its true dimensions — and what to do if it isn't.

A Calibration Cube is a simple 20 × 20 × 20 mm cube used to verify your 3D printer's dimensional accuracy after maintenance, hardware changes or calibration. Although it looks like a basic cube, it's one of the most useful test prints because even small measurement errors can indicate that your printer needs further adjustment.
Once printed, use a pair of calipers to measure the cube's length, width and height. Ideally, each side should measure close to 20 mm. If the dimensions are noticeably off, it could point to issues such as loose belts, mechanical misalignment or incorrect printer settings.
Because the model prints quickly and uses little filament, it's an efficient way to confirm your printer is performing accurately before starting larger or more complex prints.
Tip: A Calibration Cube checks dimensional accuracy, while a 3DBenchy evaluates overall print quality. Using both provides a more complete assessment of your printer's performance.
