Why Use Benchy for Calibration?
If you've just finished maintaining your 3D printer, changed your print settings, or are trying out a new filament, printing a 3DBenchy is one of the quickest ways to check if everything is working as expected — including testing filament quality and settings.

If you've just finished maintaining your 3D printer, changed your print settings, or are trying out a new filament, printing a 3DBenchy is one of the quickest ways to check if everything is working as expected — including testing filament quality and settings.
The 3DBenchy is a small boat model used as a standard benchmark in 3D printing. Its unique design includes curves, overhangs, holes and fine details that allow users to quickly identify printing issues. As it prints, it challenges your printer with overhangs, bridges, curved surfaces, fine details and text, making it easier to spot issues that may not be obvious on simple models.
A successful Benchy should have smooth surfaces, sharp details and minimal stringing. If you notice problems such as layer shifting, rough overhangs, blobs or poor bridging, your printer or the new filament you're trying out may need further calibration, maintenance or repair.
Tip: If your Benchy continues to show defects after routine maintenance, the issue may be caused by worn components or hardware faults that require professional inspection.
